AI Agent Readiness
Definition
The degree to which an autonomous software agent can discover, understand, navigate, and complete intended tasks on a website.
Context
Readiness is a property of the site, not the agent — it depends on structured data, clear semantics, stable interaction surfaces, and machine-legible affordances an agent can act on without a human narrating each step. It is measured empirically, by running real agent tasks end to end and scoring the outcome, not by inferring it from a technical checklist alone. A site can pass every accessibility or SEO audit and still be unready for agents if its checkout flow, its content structure, or its API surface only make sense to a human eye.
